Five Things To Be Aware Of For A Holistic Lifestyle.
1. What do you want for you to reach a holistic lifestyle?
Some people go through life without really stopping to think about what a holistic lifestyle looks like. So… they do not think about what they want.
A lot of times we hear about how children tend to take up their parents’ professions.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that if that is what they want autonomously. Sometimes, it isn’t and it leads to a lack of satisfaction with the lifestyle choice.
The issue is not just a professional choice but also all aspects of life. Do you go to a certain place just because others around you do? Do you eat certain foods because others do?
This leads to your awareness.
2. Why do you want it?
When you are self-aware, you do have the ability to think about your life in a more holistic way. Life is a journey and self-awareness comes at very different times in our lives. It is never too early or too late to go on a self-discovery journey.
It took me a while to get there, so I can attest to that.
How do you find out what you want?
The simple answer is, you have to go through the process of self-awareness if you are not already doing that. Be sure to be eating healthy foods, meditating (people meditate differently- just quiet your mind as best as you know how), enlightenment (read or listen to whoever you find makes you improve), and generally, focus on all-round, holistic self-improvement.
That helps you discover what you want. It is more of a process that takes time. Some people can do this faster than others, so remember that your journey is never the same as someone else’s.
3. Is it Autonomous
So… you have come to a point where you know what you want. Are you sure that it is your choice? So many times when we think we are forging our own paths, we find out along the way that the choice was far from autonomous.
It is always a wonderful thing to be inspired by others.
The difference between inspiration and non-autonomous choices is sometimes unclear. If you are satisfied with a choice of career, partner, friendships, and so on, then it is your choice. You do not have to be specifically the one who came up with some choice, for it to be yours. Adopt it if it feels right.
The most important thing here is to make sure you do not make choices that please or make others happy and leave you wondering why you do not feel right. This is all about living your best life. Not necessarily making tons of money or eating at your favorite place all the time.
This is about moving towards the best version of yourself.
Knowing that you followed through with the possibilities of a better life when the chance came along. Do not compare yourself with anyone else. Some people reach their goals at an early age. Others are much older when the opportunity to make the desired change comes. Your path is your own.
4. How can you get it?
This part is not as clear as what we have already covered. The only thing that is clear is that you cannot get here without making sure you are aware of the first three steps. When you do, then you can plan.
We are never able to plan and then achieve without some adjustments… unless it is not the first time you have been through the same plan. Even then, you do have to make sure you have all you need to succeed.
Getting to your goal is a journey that you should love.
The journey should be more fun than the goal. We are always evolving. If you do not like getting to where you want to be, then you should reconsider your first steps.
An autonomously chosen journey always feels right and energizing. You passionately seek ways to make things work even when the going gets tough.
A lot of people say that hard work gets you to your goal. I think hard work sounds like… well .. work. I believe that if you are doing something that you are passionate about, hard work is not really how you see it.
You may put in many hours and probably skip a lot of fun things, but it all feels good if you are approaching your goal.
The most important thing about getting there is taking one step at a time. Always evaluate to make sure you are heading in the right direction and most importantly, make any adjustments that need to be made.
5. What does it look like when you get there?
It’s important to think about how you see your goal before you even achieve it. Many people say to themselves; “I want to own a home.” or “I want to be the best architect.” … or whatever your goal is.
It is always a good idea to be elaborate when you think about your goal. The good thing about the mind is that it can be very creative. Do not stop at the larger picture. Be creative and think about … no … see yourself in the situation where you have reached your goal and you actually live as you wanted.
Imagine the details. What does it look like? How do you navigate your life in it?
The best thing to do, to achieve this is a revivification exercise.
Close your eyes and see yourself in a situation where you have achieved your goal and you are living it. If it is a business, see yourself interacting in a process that is a part of the business. If it is a relationship, see yourself in a situation like a day in the relationship. Do this often and you might just find out, the more you do it, the more passionate you get and the easier the journey becomes.
